Model of describing process
Many people think that Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a very complicated process. In fact, it actually is a simple process involving four steps. First of all, the patient is prepared for the treatment. She is usually instructed to lie down on a removable bed with her head straight. Secondly, the bed is pushed mechanically into a large, hollow tube, at the end of which a powerful magnetic-powered camera is installed. When her head is placed firmly in the right position, the camera scans the inside part of her head. The picture of the head is sent to a computer outside the tube within only a few seconds. Finally, the patient is taken out from the tube and the process is completed.

Grammar Translation Method is kind of teaching technique which is usually used in teaching reading through translating the text. This technique has been changing in the practically way. Before in learning process, the teacher would translate the difficulties words into Indonesian, therefore the teacher was the active and the students would not be active in the class.
Nowadays GTM has been used to make the students more active in learning process. The teacher will give the synonym or antonym of the difficulties words from the text, so that the students will think about those words. This is a good way to make the students more creative.

An opinion maintains that absolute freedom should be given to artists in order for them to explore artistic potentials as fully as they can. Government should not interfere with this intention, and should let these artistic geniuses explore things and do things as they wish in the name of the beauty of aesthetic expression. Such view, in my personal opinion, should not be encouraged. I present below two main reasons why I disagree with this opinion (= THESIS STATEMENT = inti dari argumen.)
First (transition signal), absolute freedom does more damage than good. This is true with everything, including arts. If artists have unlimited freedom in their hands, they will break some social boundaries which have been keeping order in the society. Nude poses, for example [include example], while undoubtedly constitute a pure expression that an artist would like to display, will stir chaos if performed in front of the public with strict religious codes.
Secondly, unlimited freedom may in some cases endanger the artists themselves. If they go far beyond the line of safety, they will expose themselves to risks, which may range from injuries to death. Some years ago a female artists plunged to her death when performing a happening act intended to protest the building of skyscrapers in a section of New York city [illustration]. Had the police successfully prevented her from doing that dangerous jump, the artist would have been still alive. Thus, to some extent, the role of government in limiting some aspects of life will also benefit artists.
In short [transition signal for concluding], freedom is of course important but it should always be exercised to a safe limit. The limit should be such that while it permits creative expression to flourish among artists, it still protects the public rights for enjoying decent artistic show and keeps the artists safe.

Model Essay of Chart Description
Figure 3 shows the percentage of recycling by type of material during the period of 1994 to 2002.
As it is clear from the graph, all materials—newspaper, glass, aluminum, plastic-- had an increasing trend. The percentages, in the descending order, were as follows: newspaper, glass, aluminum, and plastic. Newspapers was obviously the material that was most often recycled. In 1994, around 28% of it was recycled. This continued in a rising trend and finally hit over 50% in 2002.
Glass had the next highest percentage of being recycled. In 1994, around 12% if plastic as recycled. In 1999, however, it was equaled by aluminum, which from that point onward continued climbing until 35% in 2002, slightly above the percentage of glass at 30%.
Finally, plastic comprised the material with the lowest percentage of recycle. Starting from zero in 1994, the percentages rose slowly, almost steadily, to 15% in the year 2002.

IELTS Writing 2-Good health and fitness
Firstly, by doing sports we can get healthier body and fresher mind. It is proved by some research that exercising can burn calories in our body. As we know that over calories in our body can cause some diseases, such as, high blood pressure, cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, and many more. Besides physically healthy we will be also healthy mentally by exercising. Sports can be also entertainment for us. After doing our routine, exercising is a kind of pleasure to do.
Secondly, some medicines and vitamins will help us to obtain enough nutrition for our body. Sometimes we eat much but we don’t really care about the composition of the nutrition. So, to supply enough nutrition we also need some preventative medicines and vitamins. For example, vitamin C, B complex, vitamin E capsules, which are easy to get in stores.
Commonly, special diets are thought to be good. However, in my opinion special diets are unnecessary to do because engaging in special diets even make us stress with the rules. It can also bring some problems to our health if we do it in the wrong way, such as lack of nutrition.
In conclusion, I maintain that to get healthy life, doing normal life is not enough. First, we need to do sports to get healthy body and mind. Second, we also need to take preventative medicine to fulfil our nutrition, but no need to do special diets. So that we can achieve good health and fitness.

IELTS-Writing task 2 (page 31)
Firstly, some researches prove that inhaling cigarette endangers people’s health. The smoke does not only cause some bad effects to the smokers’ health but also to the nonsmokers’. The researchers discover that the effect of inhaling cigarette smoke is even worse to the nonsmokers. The smoke can cause many health’s problem such as cancer, inflammation of the lungs, etc. It is also dangerous for pregnancies.
Secondly, we need legal standards to make healthier environment. By forbidding smoking in public areas, we can get fresh air to breathe. It is the government’s authority to ban people smoking in public places. In Jakarta, this kind of regulation has been made. People are not allowed to smoke in public areas, such as offices, shopping centres, and parks. Anyone who disobeys this rule should be punished to pay fine.
In addition, the individual awareness is also needed to get healthy environment. The purpose of banning people smoking in public areas can be seen by obeying the rules. The smokers should be aware that other people deserve fresh air to breathe. Without people’s awareness, the goal of the regulation cannot be achieved.
In conclusion, I would maintain that smoking should be banned in public areas, because of its danger for human’s health. In order to have better environment, the government role is needed to produce legal standards. Besides that, we also need people’s participation to be aware about this, so that we will have healthier environment to live.

A Student's Work on Writing Task 1 IELTS
Generally, the length of time both sexes spent on household tasks increased as they got / grew older. It also indicates that women spent more time on household tasks in each age group. [This is a good description of the general trend in the chart!]
The youngest age group of both sexes spend spent under one hour on household tasks. The amount of time increasesd about an hour in later age groups. [be careful with the expression ‘about an hour,” because for females in the age group 25-44, clearly the increase was more than one hour]
In the age group of 25-44, Wwomen spent about twice as much time on household tasks as men did, by the age of 25-44. Then it remained steadily in later age groups, while the amount of time men spent on household task increasesd.

Model of Argumentative Essay on IELTS Writing Task 2
Firstly [signal for the first argumentative point], industry accounts for a large proportion of the greenhouse gas emissions, and this can only be controlled by government action. Measures could be taken to discourage pollution, such as limiting or taxing the use of fossil fuels. Alternatively, subsidies could be offered to industries to clean up their production processes. If these ideas were adopted, I believe that businesses would regard pollution as a financial issue.
Secondly [signal for the second argumentative point], only discussion between governments can ensure that solutions are successful. The Kyoto agreement, for example, tried to reach global agreement on how to address the problem. Without such co-operation, it seems to me that efforts to reduce fuel consumption are unlikely to be effective.
However, national and international policies will only succeed if individuals also [signal for the third argumentative point] change their lifestyles. For example [signal of examples], people could think more carefully about how they use energy in their homes. By using less electricity, installing energy-efficient light bulbs and electrical appliances, or investing in solar panels, individuals can make a real difference.
In addition, [signal for the next argumentative point] I think individual attitudes to transport need to change. Instead of making short trips by car, people could choose to walk, cycle, or take a bus. Since cars are a major source of the problem, changing our behavior in this area would have a major impact.
In conclusion [signal for concluding], I would maintain that only a combination of international agreements, national policies, and changes in individual behavior will succeed in preventing further damage to the environment.
